D.kingianum (Cream 69 x self)'S.B.1' x 'Tunstead Pink'
This will produce compact plants with mauve flowers of good shape and texture.
D.speciosum var. speciosum (Amy x Windermere) 'Jessie' x speciosum var. grandiflorum (Mt.Larcom Compact x self) 'Rhodry'
This is a cross of a couple of our top speciosum. 'Jessie' was varietial winner at the 2005 Speciosum Spectacular. It has large cream blooms with wide segments, great texture and presentation.
D.speciosum var. pedunculatum (Herberton x Atherton) x specciosum var. grandiflorum (Mt.Larcom Compact x self) 'Rhodry'
Looking for short canes with upright spikes of yellow. These won’t take up the space as most speciosum
D.speciosum (Mackay x Wattagan) x speciosum v. grandi. (Mt.Larcom Compact x self) 'Rhodry'
Mum has large heavy textured cream/yellow blooms. Flowers well regularly with good presentation. Dad is previously described. This will produce chunky yellow blooms.
D.kingianum (Linda x Caloundra) x 'Tambourine'
Dad is proven for size and texture. Mum has good flower count, broad segments of soft pink and a large dark lip.
D.kingianum (Birdwood x AF25) x (Cream 69 x self) 'SBI'
Line breeding for whites. Both parents are of a high quality. Mum doesn’t age pink hoping that this gene is strong. Again compact growth.
D.kingianum (Ruby x Grace B) x self
This is an early season purple and a rip snorter. In 2005 it won Best kingie and Best any other species at the Speciosum Spectacular and the popular vote at a local orchid meeting.
D.kingianum [(Cream 69 x self) x {(Best of 69 x self) x White Ice}] x (Birdwood x AF25)
Line breeding for compact plants and shapely whites. Testing the genes of Dad again.
D.kingianum (Merrellen No.1 x Blue) x (Merrellen No.1 x Grace B)'376'
Both parents are vigorous with mid-length canes. '376' has large purple blooms and heavy substance. Mum has high flower count and large shapely mauve blooms.
D..kingianum (Speckles x Jeckles) x 'Tunstead Pink'
Here I’m hoping that Tunstead Pink will compact the growth and enhance flower shape. Will test the strength of the speckled gene as well. Aim : splash on shapely blooms on compact plants.
D.speciosum var. speciosum (National White x Windermere) x speciosum var. speciosum (Little John x Dreamtime) 'Photo'
Line varietal breeding. Both parents are compact for var. speciosum and have excellent white blooms. Dad’s blooms are very large and well presented. Mum has upright spike habit and heavy texture.
D.speciosum var. grandiflorum (x self) 'Gemma' x speciosum var. grandiflorum'Miriam'
Expect shapely gold and yellow. Mum was Best in variety at the 2004 Speciosum Spectacular – it has great shape and presentation of yellow blooms. 'Miriam' is a deep gold colour and large size. Quality.
D. speciosum var. grandiflorum (Kroombit Tops x Mt.Larcom) x speciosum var grandiflorum 'Perfection'
Going for gold again with quality parents.
